The Bahamas is an archipelago that consists of more than 700 islands. This makes it hard for tourists to choose which to visit considering the various vacation spots in the country.

Nassau is the capital of Bahamas which is located at the New Providence Island. Tourists can visit the West Bay Street at the Fort Charlotte which was built during the 18th century.
It has a great view of the harbor and has open battlements, moat and dungeons. You can also see the Queen’s staircase which is 102 feet at the peak of Elizabeth Avenue. These steps will lead you to the Water Tower and Fort Fincastle. The island’s highest point is the Water Tower which is 216 feet above sea level.
The Crystal Cay is an aquarium and a zoo which takes up the whole island. You will have to go down the staircase which is 20 feet below sea level. This will give you an incredible view of the coral reefs and the marine species.
The Andros Island has the third largest coral reef in the world with 140 miles in length and which is called the Biminis. This makes the island perfect for snorkeling and scuba diving enthusiasts. Another attraction here is the Tongue of the Ocean which is 1 mile deep. This part is considered as one of the best fishing spots in the world.
The Long Island is 60 miles long and 3 miles wide, which is very peculiar for an island. This is an excellent place for divers to see shipwrecks and the tours for this can be arranged at the Stella Maris Resort Club located in the northern part of the island. The Dean’s Blue Hole and Hamilton’s Cave are also tourist attractions here.
The Blue Lagoon Island is for vacationers who want an experience to be with the dolphins and swim with them. The regular session to swim with the dolphins usually lasts for 45 minutes.
Berry Islands is popular to people who want to go fishing. It is also known to have breath-taking sceneries and white sand beaches. Divers can visit the incredible rock formations below the sea and the coral reefs of Mamma Rhoda Rock. Golfers would not want to miss playing at the Great Harbour Cay golf course, as well.
